Matthew is the Founder and Director of CSMC. He has 16 years clinical experience and has worked for some of the biggest sporting organisations in the UK. Matthew was selected as a physiotherapist for Team GB at the 2023 European Games and 2022 Youth Olympics. He was also a physio at the Birmingham Commonwealth Games. Outside of these prestigious Games selections, Matthew currently works for The FA with the England Women U16-U23. His previous posts include Scarlets Rugby, English Institute of Sport, British Gymnastics, Coventry Rugby, and Cambridge Rugby.

Matthew is one of only 15 CCMI registered concussion physios in the UK. Furthermore, he is one of the only physiotherapists in the world to be formally recognised as an advanced practitioner in 2 distinct healthcare systems. He is a Titled MACP Advanced MSK Physiotherapist in the UK* and a Titled APA Sports Physiotherapist in Australia**.

Matthew is a published scientific author for his research into the biomechanics of ACL injury and is currently leading a large-scale concussion research project in Premiership Men’s and Premiership Women’s rugby. Matthew completed his undergraduate training at the University of Queensland (Australia) graduating with 1st Class Honours in 2010, and completed his Masters in Advanced Neuromusculoskeletal Physiotherapy at King’s College London in 2017. He is a current PhD Candidate at the University of Leicester.

Matti is a physiotherapist with a background in NHS, elite sport and private practice. Matti joins the team having recently returned from Sydney, Australia where he was working private practice alongside playing rugby in the renowned Shute Shield. Before leaving for Australia, Matti was a Senior Physiotherapist at Addenbrookes Hospital working in Trauma and Orthopaedics.

Matti has a very comprehensive understanding of the human body and has first hand experience of what it means to maximise function and performance as he was himself a professional rugby player for Cambridge Rugby in the RFU Championship. Matti is currently recovering from shoulder surgery, but on completion of his rehab he will lace up the boots once more and has committed to Bury St Edmunds Rugby in National 1 for the 2026/27 season. Matti’s involvement in elite sport, his prior experience in trauma and orthopaedics, and his own experience of surgery and return to sport rehabilitation means that he is exactly the ideal person to support you on your post operative journey back to function and fitness.
